So I was reading and I came across this line...
" Isolation is the optimum environment for creativity. "
Is this true? Can this be what is holding us all back? The distractions of life?
Thoughts Please.

i'm sitting on the fence with this one, because the levels of any factor that make up an optimum environment can differ from one person to the next. for one person, isolation may allow them to think more creatively as they are removed from all distractions, but in another scenario, the statement "two heads are better than one" also comes to mind. take for example an advertisement group. they may each have their own ideas for an ad, but collectively, by bouncing their ideas off one another may, in fact, prove to raise the level of energy for each member, thus raising the level of creativity.
personally, i believe it depends on the nature of the person combined with the nature of what the creativity is aimed towards. for myself, i know that if i'm in need of doing something artistic and especially abstract (such as painting and especially writing) i need to be alone and secluded in my isolation, but if i'm in need of creativity for creating a program for kids, being around others puts me in my most creative space. i think distractions can, in fact, be most helpful, especially when you're trying to BE creative. taking your mind away from that which you hope to create sometimes provides a better environment, allowing your mind to soar on a different level.
